Discover the China you won't find in a guidebook
China is huge, diverse, and full of stories. The most memorable ones tend to happen away from the usual routes — which is where we spend our time.
How this works
Built around you, not around a route
We make tailor-made journeys for travellers who want China in a more personal way. Each trip is designed around your interests, your pace, and the kind of experience you actually want to remember.
Start with days rather than packages: choose the ones that appeal on the map, send us the outline, and we work out what genuinely connects. Nothing is booked online, because a trip worth taking is worth a conversation first.
We don't just want to show you China. We want you to experience it.
- Meet local people.
- Taste food where locals eat.
- Walk through places that don't appear on every itinerary.
- Find traditions, landscapes and stories that conventional tours miss.
A few of the days
-
Yum Cha and the Roast Meat Masters of Guangzhou
One day, roughly 07:30 to 19:00
A private morning at a proper tea house and an afternoon with the roast meat trade — the char siu window, the tea ritual, and how a city eats before ten.
-
Chengdu Teahouses by Handmade Bicycle
One day, roughly 09:30 to 18:00
A private day riding a locally made bicycle between riverside tea gardens, back lanes and markets, at the pace Chengdu actually runs at.
-
Chinese Medicine and Qigong in Beijing
One day, roughly 08:00 to 18:00
A day inside Chinese medicine — pulse reading, a working clinic, a herbal pharmacy, and a table built on the same principles.

Guiding since 2008
Our founder, Yolanda Lau, has worked as a guide since 2008, specialising in small-group and tailor-made journeys across China.
In that time we have taken guests well beyond the usual trail — into remote Tibetan nomad country where we were sometimes the only visitors that week, and into local festivals and encounters that happened for no better reason than that we were there at the right moment.
These are the moments that stay with people.
Your interests. Your pace. Your China.
Tell us roughly what you have in mind
Culture, food, history, nature or something you have not been able to name yet — start with three fields and we will build the rest around it.
